Večka Tower stands by the sea at the edge of Večko Field, east of Starigrad-Paklenica. It formed part of the fortifications raised by Venice in the 16th century to protect maritime and overland routes from Ottoman incursions. The position allowed observation of the Velebit Channel, crossings toward the Zadar hinterland and the route through Velika Paklenica Canyon toward Lika. Surviving walls indicate that the tower had several floors, while part of its former rectangular courtyard now lies under the sea. This is an open archaeological landscape rather than a managed museum site, and it combines well with a coastal walk and other heritage sites of the Paklenica Riviera.
