Cape Sućuraj Lighthouse stands on the eastern tip of Hvar, at the entrance to the stretch of sea between the island and the mainland. It dates from the closing years of the 19th century, when Sućuraj also gained a new breakwater, public buildings and a new parish church. Its position on Hvar’s easternmost coast makes the white lighthouse a striking landmark both from the sea and from the village. It is best approached as part of a walk through Sućuraj, from the waterfront and historic centre towards the coastal cape. The structure is primarily a navigation aid, so it is best appreciated from outside; its appeal lies above all in the maritime setting and views across the channel towards the coast.

The 1663 Baroque Church of St Anthony is one of old Sućuraj’s surviving buildings and recalls the settlers who shaped its Donja Banda quarter.
