St Peter Lighthouse occupies the western edge of its namesake peninsula, between pine trees and the open sea outside Makarska. Built in 1884, its low stone building and terrace differ from the tall, freestanding towers often associated with lighthouses. The coastal walk around Sveti Petar offers changing views of the lighthouse, Makarska's waterfront and Biokovo. The building also serves as holiday accommodation, making an exterior view from the peninsula path the appropriate focus of a casual visit. It provides a distinctive stopping point before continuing towards St Peter's Church or returning to the town beach.
