On Šćedro’s northern shore, in Mostir Bay, stand the remains of a church and a former Dominican monastery. Dominicans from Hvar arrived on the island in 1486 and built their monastic complex beside an existing church; the local tourist board dates the complex to the late 15th century and its abandonment to the 18th. The church is distinguished by a barrel vault and an unadorned rectangular apse, while its 18th-century bell tower also served a defensive purpose. Mostir is reached by sea, making the site a fitting stop for boaters and day visitors who want to pair a quiet bay with historic remains.
