The Parish Church of Christ the King stands on Selca’s main square, on the site of the former Church of Our Lady of Miraška. It was designed in 1919 by Austrian engineer Adolf Schlauf, with local builders and stonemasons taking part in its construction. The three-aisled Neo-Romanesque building has a tower on its façade and capitals modelled on Early Christian examples. At 45 metres tall, it is locally known as the Brač Cathedral. Its altar features Ivan Meštrović’s 1956 bronze Sacred Heart of Jesus, cast from shell casings left after the Second World War. The church is protected as an individual cultural property.
