About
Garić Grad rises above Podgarić amid the wooded landscape of Moslavačka Gora and ranks among northern Croatia’s oldest medieval fortified towns. Until the Ottoman conquest of the Moslavačka Gora area in the mid-16th century, its holders included the bans of Slavonia and the bishops of Zagreb. The site is arranged across three terraces: a smaller tower stands on the northern one, while the central terrace contains a larger tower and a cistern; the southern section preserves traces of residential and service buildings. Restored walls of the central tower, together with an access bridge and ramp, make the remains easier to explore. It suits walkers keen to combine a forest outing with medieval heritage.
