About
Bošnjaci Forestry Museum is a specialised regional natural-history museum devoted to the forestry heritage of the Spačva Basin. It is located in the centre of Bošnjaci in a former primary school built in 1869, with about 500 square metres adapted for museum use. The idea began among forestry engineers and technicians at the Hrast Forestry Management Office in Vinkovci during the 1970s, and work on the project started in 1988. Restoration was interrupted by the Croatian War of Independence, resumed in 2005, and the museum opened in 2007. It is especially appealing to visitors who want to understand how forests, forestry work, and local identity are intertwined in this part of Slavonia.
