Kamačnik is a protected significant landscape in the Vrbovsko area, protected since 2002 and part of the Natura 2000 network. The stream runs for 3.2 kilometres, and its karst spring is among Croatia’s deepest, with a recorded depth of 118 metres. A maintained path follows the gorge; after the first bridge, a 981-metre trail branches towards the mountain lodge and the village of Vujnovići. Wet habitats, stream banks and grasslands alternate in the valley, where plants include greater burnet-saxifrage. Kamačnik suits walkers, families and nature lovers.
