Crkva Porođenja BDM u Tugarama

The Parish Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Tugare on the slopes of Poljica Mountain. It was built on the site of an earlier church in the 18th century, while its massive, fortress-like bell tower dates from the second half of the 19th century. The church is the centre of a parish linked to Tugare, a settlement first recorded in Prince Trpimir’s charter of 852. Services are held here, and the landscaped space between the old parish house and the church contains a Marian grotto with a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes.
