The Church of St. Nicholas in Baška Voda was built in 1889 in the neo-Romanesque style, once the waterfront settlement had grown after the pirate threat ended in the late 17th century. The split stonemason Ante Frank made its three stone altars with marble elements: the main altar in 1936, the Marian altar in 1937, and the altar of St. Nicholas. Academic painter Josip Botteri Dini created the seven stained-glass windows in 1987, and Josip Bifel painted the Stations of the Cross in 1988. The present concrete bell tower, with a pyramidal top and four bells, was raised in 1991 to a design by Ante Rožica and faced in stone in 1994. The church was declared a cultural monument in 1969.
