The parish church of St. Peter the Apostle stands at Vlaška Street 93, on the historic route linking Kaptol with the eastern Lower Town. The present church developed on the site of an earlier building: sources place the construction of a new church in the late 16th or the 17th century, and it was rebuilt from the ground up in 1769–70. Architect Hermann Bollé prepared an enlargement plan in 1889, carried out in 1926, which gave the church its cruciform form. Its square tower rises above Vlaška Street, while the interior contains altars, mosaics and organs.
