Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the centre of devotion to Our Lady of Voćin and the principal pilgrimage shrine of the Diocese of Požega. The present church was rebuilt in its original form after the destruction of its predecessor and consecrated on 14 August 2011. Its strongly vertical mass and tall tower form a distinctive silhouette in Voćin beneath Papuk. Pope Francis raised it to the dignity of a minor basilica in 2022. Pilgrimages take place here, especially around Marian feast days, while a visit also offers a powerful insight into the history of Voćin parish and the town’s modern sacred renewal.
