The parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Valpovo is a monumental single-nave Baroque building, erected between 1733 and 1736 at the initiative of Baron Petar Antun Hilleprand von Prandau. Its two-bay nave has domed vaulting, the sanctuary is narrower and semicircular, and a tower rises beside the main façade. The high altar features Anton Hertzog’s 1737 painting of the Immaculate Virgin surrounded by the Holy Trinity and angels. On the gallery stand Caspar Fischer’s mechanical organ from 1805, the only almost completely preserved instrument by this organ builder in Croatia. The church is an outstanding example of post-Ottoman sacred architecture in Slavonia.
