The Parish Church of St Teresa of Ávila was raised in the centre of Suhopolje on the orders of Count Ivan Nepomuk Jankovich de Pribert. Construction began in 1807, was completed in 1816, and the church was consecrated in 1821 by Maksimilijan Vrhovec, Bishop of Zagreb. The Neoclassical building is conceived as a central-plan church with a cruciform layout: its circular nave is covered by a dome and flanked by two bell towers. A four-column portico dominates the main façade. Inside are an 1814 altarpiece of St Teresa of Ávila and the gallery with the Jankovich family oratory. Beneath the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes is a crypt containing the builder’s family sarcophagi.
