Crkva sv. Katarine u Hrebinu

St Catherine’s Church in Hrebine is a small, originally Gothic church distinguished by its preserved rib-vaulted sanctuary.

About

St Catherine’s Church in Hrebine is a modest single-nave building with a rectangular plan, a narrower sanctuary and a timber tower above its façade. Although altered over time, its rectangular Gothic sanctuary has retained its rib vault in full—an uncommon survival in Zagreb County. The nave has a flat ceiling and the exterior is deliberately plain, so the building’s distinctive character is most apparent inside. The church also preserves a Baroque altar of St Catherine of Alexandria from the first half of the 18th century, with an altarpiece and sculptures. It is protected as an immovable cultural property under register number Z-3765.
