About
Dobra Kuća is a medieval fortified town above the village of the same name, northeast of Daruvar. It was first recorded as a royal estate in 1335 and passed through the hands of several noble families over the centuries. Built on bedrock, the stronghold was protected by thick walls; its ground plan still reveals a square main tower, traces of residential rooms and a cistern carved into the rock. After its Ottoman capture in 1542, it gradually fell into ruin and is now a protected cultural asset. It is best suited to independent visitors looking for a secluded medieval site in Slavonia.
