Church of St. George

The Church of St George is a Serbian Orthodox church in Tovarnik, a settlement by the Croatian–Serbian border and the Vinkovci–Šid railway. It was built in 1799, when the village was taking on its modern form and religiously diverse character after Ottoman rule. The church falls under the spiritual jurisdiction of the Eparchy of Srem, an unusual arrangement among Orthodox churches in eastern Croatia.
