About
The present parish church in Resnik was built and consecrated in the 17th century. It stands in a former village recorded as an ecclesiastical estate as early as the 13th century; by the 14th century, Resnik had become a parish centre. Together with the rectory and old school, the church forms part of Resnik’s protected cultural-historical ensemble, where traditional wooden building survives alongside older masonry homes. The church is most closely associated with the parish feast of the Assumption, celebrated on 15 August. It is at I. Resnik 70, in a quieter eastern edge of Zagreb, and rewards visitors interested in the city’s rural historical layers.
