Church of St. Stephen

Borovo’s Church of St Stephen the Protomartyr and Archdeacon is a single-nave late-Baroque building with a semicircular apse. A two-storey bell tower, capped by a Baroque onion dome, rises in front of the main façade, whose ground-floor entrance is finished with a semicircular arch. The interior is covered by a canopy vault, while the sanctuary has a semi-dome with adjoining vaults. Its iconostasis is especially significant and is attributed to Jovan Isailović the Elder and Grigorije Jezdimirović; the Croatian Conservation Institute is carrying out conservation work on it. The church is protected immovable cultural property, registered as Z-1141, on Trg palih boraca.
