The convent of the Sisters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul is the central house of the Province of the Annunciation in Split. Reconstruction and new building work began in 1996 after decades of the community's service in the city, and the present complex makes particularly expressive use of stone. Its masonry includes structural and decorative elements, with white Brač stone used on exterior sections. The chapel also contains a contemporary mosaic of the Annunciation. This is an active convent rather than a conventional tourist attraction, making it most relevant to visitors interested in religious architecture, modern sacred art and Croatia's continuing stoneworking tradition.
