The Špinut Bay archaeological site preserves evidence of an ancient harbour along the northern shore of Marjan, in today's Spinut district. Its value lies in the maritime side of ancient life: while Diocletian's Palace dominates the story of Roman Split, this site shifts attention toward the shoreline, landing places and use of a sheltered bay. It is not experienced as a large, fully interpreted archaeological park, so it is better suited to visitors deliberately exploring the topography of ancient Split and Marjan. The most natural approach is to combine it with a walk along the peninsula's northern side, through Spinut and nearby recreational areas, while respecting the surviving archaeological remains.
