The monastery and Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Prvić Luka grew from the arrival of Glagolitic Franciscan Tertiaries in 1461. Construction of the church began that same year and was still under way in 1479. The complex was altered several times and restored after the major fire of 1884, which also destroyed part of its Glagolitic documentation. Five Baroque altars enrich the church interior. Protected as immovable cultural property Z-3192, the monastery stands beside the Faust Vrančić Memorial Centre and is a key stop for understanding Prvić’s Glagolitic heritage.
