Krka National Park covers 109 square kilometres of the Krka River’s most valuable course and the lower Čikola River in Šibenik-Knin County. It was proclaimed a national park in 1985, with its current boundaries revised in 1997. Its defining natural phenomenon is tufa: the Krka has seven tufa waterfalls with a combined river drop of 224 metres. The protected area extends from below Knin to Skradin and includes canyons, lakes, waterfalls, islands and cultural sites. Visitor infrastructure includes entrances, walking and cycling trails, viewpoints and boat excursions. Check the park’s official website for current visiting arrangements before travelling.
