The Turopolje Museum is housed in the Turopolje Town Hall on King Tomislav Square in Velika Gorica. This Baroque, one-storey building with an arcaded porch was built in 1765 as the seat of the Noble Municipality of Turopolje; its upper floor hosted assemblies, while the ground floor once contained a prison. Founded in 1960, the museum collects archaeological, ethnographic, cultural-historical and art material from Turopolje, Pokuplje, Posavina and the Vukomeričke Hills. Its permanent display traces Turopolje’s past from prehistory to the modern era. Since 15 December 2025, the building has been closed to visitors for comprehensive restoration and preparation of a new permanent display.
