St Joseph’s Parish Church stands in central Slatina, beside the Park of the 136th Slatina Brigade. Its foundation stone was laid on 15 October 1911, and Zagreb Archbishop Antun Bauer consecrated the church on 6 July 1913. The design was by Vilim Rauscher, on land donated by Prince Schaumburg-Lippe. This Neo-Gothic building has two side aisles, while its 52-metre tower is a defining feature of Slatina’s skyline. Alongside the high altar of St Joseph, the interior includes altars dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Conception, and Saints Cyril and Methodius. Slatina marks the feast of its patron, St Joseph, on 19 March.
