Holy Trinity Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Eparchy of Pakrac and Slavonia in central Pakrac, opposite the Bishop’s Palace. A masonry Baroque church was built between 1757 and 1768 on the site of an earlier wooden Church of St Tryphon. After a fire, it was remodelled in 1896 to designs by Hermann Bollé in an eclectic style. Its façade features a portal by Ignjat Franz and a Holy Trinity mosaic, while the restored floor mosaic is a notable interior feature. The church was badly damaged in the Croatian War of Independence, and Croatia’s Ministry of Culture took part in its restoration. Combine a visit with the Bishop’s Palace and Pakrac’s historic centre.
