Crkva sv. Petra (Petrovsko)
About
St Peter’s Parish Church stands in Petrovsko, formerly known as Konoba, whose parish was first recorded in 1334 as sancti Petri de Conoba. The present church is fundamentally medieval: its Gothic sanctuary dates to the fourteenth century, while a Baroque nave, sacristy and bell tower were added in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The sanctuary retains a polygonal end, buttresses and a net vault, while the interior reflects successive later furnishings. A notable piece is the Baroque altar showing St Peter kneeling to receive the keys from Christ. Listed as protected cultural heritage, the church is a rewarding stop when exploring Hrvatsko zagorje.
